Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Introduction

This statement is prepared for the purpose of Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and forms our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ended 31 December 2022. Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labor. DYWIDAG has implemented a Compliance Management System (CMS) based on its Company Policy and Code of Conduct. This CMS applies to all companies themselves and to all individuals and companies, including subcontractors, working for or on behalf of DYWIDAG.

Our Business

The DYWIDAG Group is a global construction and infrastructure specialist with a history dating back to 1865 AD. Headquartered in Germany, the DYWIDAG Group is active in over 50 countries and has 37 subsidiaries worldwide.

  • The main market segments include:

  • Post-Tensioning and Stay Cables

  • Geotechnics

  • Lifespan Management

  • Concrete Accessories

  • Tunnelling

These technologies are applied in the construction of bridges, slope stabilization, high-rise buildings, stadiums, wind towers, dams, tunnels and excavations.

DYWIDAG has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery both within DYWIDAG Group and within its supply chain. We have reviewed our existing compliance and risk management processes following the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 to determine to what extent measures already exist, and what further measures may be required to prevent slavery and human trafficking taking place in any part of our businesses or in our supply chains.

As a responsible employer, DYWIDAG considers it its duty to ensure that employees are not exploited, that their safety is guaranteed and that relevant employment, health and safety legislation and human rights including, but not limited to, fair wages, minimum age, safe and fair working conditions, freedom of movement and communication, are respected.

Therefore, DYWIDAG has taken several actions, both internal and in supply chain, to address modern slavery and human trafficking:

Supplier Code of Conduct: We maintain a Supplier Code of Conduct that outlines our expectations for ethical business practices, including the prohibition of forced labor, child labor, and human trafficking in our supply chain.

Modern Slavery and Child Labor Policy: Our Policy states that DYWIDAG respects fundamental human rights and is committed to the principles set out in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We support and respect the protection of human rights within our sphere of influence, in particular the effective elimination of compulsory labor and child labor, also in our supply chain.

DYWIDAG Spirit: Our employees are bound by our Code of Conduct, the “DYWIDAG Spirit”, that emphasizes our commitment to fair labor practices and respect for human rights and the same we respect from our suppliers.

DYWIDAG’s Compliance Hotline: We have established and are maintaining a reporting mechanism, operated by a certified independent third party, offering anonymous reporting options and complying with all current national and international standards, that allows employees, suppliers, and all other stakeholders to report any suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking.

This statement has been approved by DYWIDAG's senior management and will be reviewed annually to ensure its ongoing relevance and effectiveness.
