Post-Tensioning Systems connect São Paulo with the International Airport

The new Line 13 Jade of the São Paulo metro system in Brazil will connect the city with the São Paulo International Airport in the municipality of Guarulhos.

Context

The line has a total length of 2.2km, 4.3km of which will be built at ground level and 7.9km of which will be elevated.

Solution

Work is divided into four lots, two of which are being built by the Consortium CST Linha 13-Jade. In these sections, DYWIDAG supplied post-tensioning systems for one of the elevated structures that will accommodate the new metro line.

The structure was built using the free cantilever method, and 3 successive cantilevers were post-tensioned using Type 15-0.6" DYWIDAG Strand Tendons.
